Safe sports are our top priority. We follow the 4 V's of safety: VOG, code of conduct, confidential advisor and professional instructors. On this page you will find the code of conduct, privacy policy and information about the confidential advisor.

The confidential contact person

Within our association, Rini Marchand is the confidential contact person. He is the first point of contact for anyone who has comments, questions or signals regarding sexual harassment or other transgressive behavior) aggression and violence, bullying and exclusion, discrimination and other forms of harassment' or wants to have a conversation or report a specific incident to the club. Rini is available for students and (executive) members and parents.
He can be reached on 06-10474144 and is usually there on Thursday evenings at the Ir. Ottenbad.

Conversations with Rini are confidential. He will handle the information confidentially and discreetly. This does not mean that the conversations are covered by confidentiality as with a formal confidant or a doctor.
Rini will in all cases that he in any way whatsoever becomes aware of an incident concerning transgressive behavior or crime, discuss this (possibly anonymously at the request of the person) with the board and in any case submit it by means of a report. Only when the board cannot act without further information, Rini will be asked for the possibly anonymized information.
Within the board, the secretary is the portfolio holder for the confidential contact person (VCP)

Executives and volunteers at our club

Our association has approximately 75 active members and parent assistants.

How do you become a cadre member?
Most of the executives come from our own members. These are often young members who, after obtaining their diplomas, want to continue teaching. They start as assistants, grow to aspiring executives and eventually become executives. Many follow in the footsteps of their parents, who have sometimes been executives for years. These generations form the core of our association, something we are very proud of.

Safety first: VOG
For everyone who works with minors within our association, we request a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). This applies to both our permanent staff members and parents who want to help temporarily. We also guide new staff members who come from other brigades well and ask for a VOG.

Future development
On the advice of NOC*NSF, we have set up a system to renew the VOG every three years for all our executives. In this way, we continue to work on a safe environment for everyone.

Rules of conduct

The Eindhoven Rescue Brigade is part of the Dutch Rescue Brigade. RN is affiliated with NOC*NSF and shares with this organization the rules of conduct that apply to all associations affiliated with NOC*NSF. We also support these rules of conduct. These apply to everyone who is a member of our association.

I accept and respect the other as he is and do not discriminate. Everyone counts within our brigade.
I take into account the boundaries that the other person indicates.
I don't bother others.
I do not harm others.
I do not abuse my position of power in any way.
I do not swear or make mean jokes or comments about others.
I do not ignore the other.
I do not participate in bullying, ridicule or gossiping.
I don't fight, I don't use violence, I don't threaten others, I don't carry weapons.
I do not get too close without permission and I do not touch the other person against his or her will.
I do not give others unwanted sexual attention.
I do not ask inappropriate questions or make unwanted comments about anyone's personal life or appearance.
If someone bothers or harasses me, I ask him/her to stop. If that doesn't help, I ask someone else for help.
I help others to also adhere to these agreements and I speak to those who do not adhere to them and, if necessary, report this to the board.

Our privacy statement describes which data we collect, how we store it, and who has access to this data. This statement includes data processing for membership management, administration, sending purchases, newsletters and managing cookie preferences. For all members who work with minors, we request a Certificate of Conduct (VOG). We ensure secure processing and offer you the right to inspect, correct or delete your data. Code of Conduct

This code of conduct is enforceable in contrast to the rules of conduct. If one or more rules from the code of conduct are violated, a disciplinary procedure with disciplinary sanctions can follow from the sports association.

Below is an overview of the 'Code of Conduct for Sports Supervisors' as established within organised sports:

The coach must provide an environment and atmosphere in which the athlete can feel safe.
The coach shall refrain from treating the athlete in a manner that undermines the athlete's dignity, and from intruding further into the athlete's private life than is necessary in the context of the sport.
The coach will refrain from any form of (power) abuse or sexual harassment towards the athlete.
Sexual acts and sexual relations between the coach and the young athlete under the age of sixteen are not permitted under any circumstances and are considered sexual abuse. The coach may not touch the athlete in such a way that the athlete and/or the coach can reasonably expect to experience this touch as sexual or erotic in nature, as will generally be the case with the deliberate touching (causing) of genitals, buttocks and breasts.
The supervisor refrains from (verbal) sexual intimacies through any means of communication.
During training, competitions and trips, the supervisor will be reserved and respectful towards the athlete and the space in which the athlete is located, such as the changing room or hotel room.
The supervisor has the duty - to the extent that it is within his/her power - to protect the athlete against damage and (power) abuse as a result of Sexual Intimidation. Where it is known or arranged who represents the interests of the (young) athlete, the supervisor is obliged to cooperate with these persons or institutions, so that they can do their job properly.
The coach will not give the athlete any (im)material compensation with the obvious intention of asking for something in return. The coach will also not accept any financial reward or gifts from the athlete that are disproportionate to the usual or agreed remuneration.
The coach will actively ensure that these rules are observed by everyone involved with the athlete. If the coach notices behavior that is not in accordance with these rules of conduct, he will take the necessary action(s).
In cases where the code of conduct does not (directly) provide for this, it is the responsibility of the supervisor to act in the spirit thereof.
