Swimming rescue
At the Eindhoven Rescue Brigade, children and adults can continue their studies for swimming rescue certificates after obtaining a B or C diploma. In addition to personal safety, students also learn to rescue others, with plenty of attention for fun and safety.
After obtaining a B or C diploma (or for those who already have these diplomas) the Eindhoven Rescue Brigade offers the possibility to obtain certificates for Lifesaving Swimming. These certificates are aimed at being able to save others as well as yourself. Of course, fun remains a top priority for these diplomas.
This is also the phase where it becomes interesting for older members to participate in swimming lessons. The students are trained in performing rescues with various rescue equipment such as a rescue tube and a throwing bag. In addition, there is also the possibility to practice the learned techniques in a competition with our SERC team . Here the student is challenged to solve a water accident within a short time (from seeing the accident to taking care of the victims who have been brought to shore). There is also the possibility to join our security team and help to guard events (e.g. festivals or water events) and to perform disaster exercises.
During swimming lessons, the student is always supervised by the same permanent instructor. However, when moving on to other diplomas, the instructor can change. Our association consists entirely of volunteers and every instructor has a Certificate of Conduct.
